Tree Squirrel

Tree Squirrel
The loud chucking call of a Tree Squirrel is used to advertise territory or indicate the presence of a predator. The deeper call is used when the squirrel sees a mongoose or snake but if it sees an avian predator such as an eagle or large owl then the call becomes higher-pitched. Both calls are included in this recording, the first is the deep "mammalian predator" call, the second one was recorded when the squirrel spotted an eagle.
