The call of the Crested Francolin is a characteristic sound of South Africa's bushveld and is
actually a perfectly synchronized duet by a pair, one bird calling 'kee', the other 'kerrik'.
Here two pairs compete at the edge of each other's territory, one pair calling louder than the other.
