This brightly coloured barbet calls in a synchronised duet, with one bird calling 'two', followed
immediately by 'puddley' given by its mate. At the same time the birds usually sway or bob up and
down as they call.
These birds are common residents in well wooded areas and often come into gardens in urban areas
where fruit trees offer a plentiful food source.
