African Fish Eagle The ringing call of the African Fish Eagle is one of the most distinctive sounds of Africa. Usually seen in pairs, the female is larger than the male and can have a wingspan of up to 2.4m (8 ft).

These eagles catch fish by stooping down from a perch, usually a tall tree, and catching the prey with their powerful feet from the surface of the water. This duet was recorded in front of Mfuwe Lodge in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia.
