About Us

Derek and Sarah Solomon live in Raptor's View, a small wildlife estate on the edge of Hoedspruit, a little town in the heart of South Africa's bushveld, only a short distance from the Kruger National Park.

They have been leading special interest safaris in Southern Africa for over 20 years. Originally based in Harare in Zimbabwe, Derek and Sarah worked as a team taking safaris into remote destinations around Zimbabwe and eventually Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa. Then in 2003 they moved up to Zambia's South Luangwa National Park where Derek worked for five years as a specialist guide for The Bushcamp Company and Sarah became involved in various community projects. Derek still does freelance guiding for various organization including Bushtracks Expeditions USA, National Geographic Expeditions and Massachusetts Audubon Society.

Derek's main interests are wildlife sound recording and animal behaviour while Sarah focuses on wildlife photography and art.
